Yesterday I joined Alex Phillips on her show on Talk to discuss the likelihood that Andy Burnham will call a snap general election, and the prospects for the main parties if such a contest were to take place.
I think you’re right on the early election Paul. 19th November would work well for Burnham as he could delay what will be a horror show budget until after the election. Also he’s still not completely hated, the economy will get much worse, immigration will be a running bore in his side because he doesn’t know what to do as Labour are so dependent on Muslim votes and the bond markets will almost certainly go only one way and possibly cause a national crisis meaning an IMF loan with serious cuts in benefits and public sector pensions à la Greece as the price to pay. Labour have never forgiven themselves for not going early under Brown and won’t make that mistake this time.
I am certain he’s going to call it, he’s a little snake who doesn’t have ANY mandate whatsoever to be in the position he is in and he knows it, but he’s popular so he’ll cash in while he can I reckon, and we’ll get 5 more godforsaken years of 💩 😖
He seems to be ruling it out but, then again, we cant really believe anything that comes out of a politicians mouth 🙄
Hi Paul 👋
If we have a general election then all party will produce manifesto that wont be worth the paper they are printed on .
