No, Britain has not 'mainstreamed' far-right ideology
Yesterday evening, I took part in a debate about the British riots on a programme called The Heat, which is broadcast on CGTN America.
The debate turned out to be rather lively - particularly after one of the other guests, a professor, claimed that Britain had ‘mainstreamed’ far-right ideology. I considered such a claim to be downright absurd and, as you will see from the broadcast, I took the opportunity to tell him so.
Too often, our political, academic, cultural and media elites get away with spouting ridiculous theories about our country and its people. I will never stop challenging them, and I am grateful to all my subscribers for supporting my work.

Excellent contribution to the debate, Paul, despite some of the other panelists seemingly being completely unaware of the reality of how the country feels and why.
Far right ideology has not become mainstream but tolerance of a reasoned debate about the immigration concerns people have certainly has.
That, and the consistent failure of successive government's to do as they promised, are the real causes of the disillusionment and, hence, the demonstrations. Like you I absolutely condemn the violence and lawbreaking that has occurred.
That chap Hellyer was dripping with condescension, while spouting the usual lazy, ill informed tropes one might expect from an out of touch academic.
