Great interview Paul. You explained things really well in a way non-British Europeans can easily understand. I'm also very relieved you qualified Labour's "majority". Many European countries have proportional representation so it's always useful to call out that Labour's vast majority was handed to it with just 34% of the vote. I think they'll find that quite a shock. I wouldn't want anyone to think that the majority of the electorate actually wanted this party in power. It's so refreshing to hear a trade unionist from the left speaking out against these issues. It sure helps destroy Starmer's idiotic "far-right" narrative.

As ever Paul, you bring balance and reason to the subject. To me, the need for a national enquiry is to investigate why so many state bodies & institutions across the country failed in their response to these crimes. To use the hackneyed phrase, it shows systemic institutional failure.

On the subject of Reform, like you I’m sceptical of how well Reform truly represent the traditional working class. It awaits to be seen if they can truly shift to the common ground of the public. That said, Labour have so abandoned this ground and their hatred of the working class is so ingrained, I really don’t think they’re capable of change. The Conservatives, Lib Dem’s and Greens have even less chance of doing so, given their core constituencies. The void in British politics is just getting larger by the day.
