Agreed, admittedly for a short period when I wrote that comment I had lost all hope and began to clutch at straws in despair with the FBU and Labour. I've regained a bit of faith over the past couple of weeks and i’m pleased to see Burnham taking charge of Labour and truly hope we see some return to common sense leadership and a move back towards traditional socialism, and hopefully unionism (we can dream)
Cheers for being a voice of reason Paul. The FBU members would benefit from a voice like yours at the moment, there is division and some level of despair. If bridges could ever be built it would be a unifying force but I suspect that ship has sailed. All the best!

Hope you're one of them Paul!! The party name of Labour is just a name. It no longer means what it used to. Paul, if you're reading please join Reform for the next general election as there's no time for anyone else to create a counter movement in that time. Then please create a blue Labour political party. You will do incredible well. Then we can go back to common sense politics with Reform economically on the right and Paul Embery's Blue Labour Breakaway party on the left. Tories and Labour will eventually shrivel up and die. Im not presuming your vote, I don't know, but you've eluded to the fact many times that you'll stick with Labour when a vote for them means voting for everything you criticise on this Substack.
Yes, I am very much a Blue Labour person, Tracy. And I want to play whatever role I can in shifting the Labour party in that direction. I recognise it won't be easy, mind.
I know you're Blue Labour, Paul, but as I eluded to in my comment, they are a small minority in a group that has lost the plot. I'm therefore curious why, rather than trying to change the mind of people you never will, you don't instead break away and form a separate party. You'll never align Labour behind Blue Labour (Burnham is Starmer on steroids and with a much stronger ability to get things done) so continuing to vote for Labour (yes I'm making an assumption there but a fair one I'd say) is the definition of insanity - doing the same thing again and again and hoping for a different outcome.

I don't think Reform is the answer for working-class people. But the party is certainly right on some issues.
