Great article as normal Paul. I live close to Altrincham in Manchester where we've had protests outside the Cresta Court hotel. The mainstream and leftish press have condemned the protesters against the asylum use of the hotel as Far Right outsiders out to cause trouble and the Stand Up To Racism / SWP counter protesters as locals whereas the absolute opposite is the case. Just like in Epping, the police escort these counter protesters from the station to the hotel. And given that I'm a former SWP member I know quite a few faces in the counter protest side and I know for certain that they don't live anywhere near Altrincham but actually live in the Leftie/Liberal/BBC Ville of Chorlton-cum-Hardy where there aren't any migrant hotels

"Many minds, one heart" what a motto for not just Essex but all right thinking people.

The vast majority of people agree with Epping.

I believe that mindset is beginning to permeate across the country now and long may it continue ….

About a mile outside of Altrincham there's the very leafy, footballer-belt village of Hale. In Hale, there's also a migrant hotel that doesn't have any protesters because it's only used to house families. You'd think that if the Cresta Court protesters were only racist Far Righters that they'd be equally against the families as the exclusively young men who occupy the Cresta Court. But they aren't, are they despite the local website, Altrincham Today labeling them as such.

BTW, when the families first moved into the Hale hotel, Altrincham Today ran an interview with a family whose dad was a medical specialist of some sort implying that all the others were of that professional sort.

They didn't bother to ask the question that if the dad's skills were in such demand why didn't he just come here legally instead of risking the lives of his family on a rubber boat.

Dagenham is definitely Essex, it's got a Romford 'RM' post code so not really London.

(Anyway, unrelated subject, I wondered what you think of the Labour deputy leader contest and what you thought about of Bridget Phillipson's speech to TUC?)

Hi Paul 👋

"The only way is Essex " 😉

My only fear is replacing one set of two faced hypocritical elites with another set of two faced hypocritical elites will only worsen existing problems.

To save our democracy we need 3 things.

1 honest politicians

2 politicians with a core ideology, which means 80-90 % of polices they propose will be based on the ideology

3 the death of identity politics

Have a lovely week Paul and other readers 😊
