I was interviewed last week by YouTube channel ‘Riks Europe’. I spoke about the early release of prisoners and the selective ‘tough justice’ that we saw in the wake of the recent riots. And, towards the end of the interview (scroll to 7 minutes 40 seconds), I talked about Labour’s slide in the polls and what I think are the reasons for it. The interview can be watched below.

Labour had an open goal to make things better for the country, regardless of political persuasion….however.
It’s apparent that unless that pathetic front bench changes and soon, we’ll all lucky to even afford sausages let alone heat them up or stay warm…
Listening to Starmer talking to Beth Rigby showed perfectly just how out of touch he (I don’t know his pronouns so I’m taking a risk here) is.
He’s like an automaton that once the cassette is inserted, there’s no deviation from the script…
For once, the old Clinton era adage, “it’s the economy” is actually true, but as you gave examples of, it is about how the current orthodoxy that’s been in vogue for the last 30 to 40 years is so broken, it is now causing an ever faster decline. Rachel Reeves and Labour seem even more captured by the Treasury than the Tories, so there will not be the change you are hoping for I fear and the next 5-10 years will be damaging to my country. I suspect that in the next election no party will be able to form a workable majority, either for themselves or in coalition. The first party to move away from the centre ground to the common ground and with it a complete change of economic practice will probably break the cycle.
