I was interviewed last week by YouTube channel ‘Riks Europe’. I spoke about the early release of prisoners and the selective ‘tough justice’ that we saw in the wake of the recent riots. And, towards the end of the interview (scroll to 7 minutes 40 seconds), I talked about Labour’s slide in the polls and what I think are the reasons for it. The interview can be watched below.

Labour had an open goal to make things better for the country, regardless of political persuasion….however.
It’s apparent that unless that pathetic front bench changes and soon, we’ll all lucky to even afford sausages let alone heat them up or stay warm…
Listening to Starmer talking to Beth Rigby showed perfectly just how out of touch he (I don’t know his pronouns so I’m taking a risk here) is.
He’s like an automaton that once the cassette is inserted, there’s no deviation from the script…
I enjoyed that interview, Paul. As usual, you were a voice of balance and reason.
I hear that the Labour Government is now considering sending prisoners to Estonia to increase our prison capacity. If this goes ahead, not only will the flights increase the Government’s carbon footprint (oh no!), they might also be found guilty, under international law, of people trafficking. What an embarrassment!
Yes, the last government was the worst in living memory - they were like a sick comedy act in the worst possible taste, but I have a nasty feeling that this lot are going to plunge to even lower depths.
In your influential position, you must know some of them. What is wrong with them? Are they mad, incompetent, acting on somebody else’s orders, or just on a wind up?
To me, it’s beginning to resemble a new Carry On film – Carry on Westminster. 2-tier Kier is playing the Sid James character, Rayner is Babs, and Milliband the new Charles Hawtrey. The only difference is that this new film isn’t very funny, and the actors nowhere near as likeable or charming.
