I'd like to see more proportional diversity in the adverts on TV and newsreaders, say around 80% white which would be representative of our current population rather than 80% non-white as at present which is not representative. Outside of London and Major cities , we the majority do exist and we do have a voice which is being ignored by the minority who own the MSM. Great article Paul !

Never actually seen anyone complain about the lack of diversity in top flight sprinters and the like…. AND in the legal profession and judiciary!

Good article Paul, well argued.

I do feel it’s slightly unfair on the Police and FB though. They are the plaything of government and actually have very little autonomy in what they do. As for the Police, again, many many more laws have been passed around things that relatively recently would have been seen as ‘bad manners’ or to ‘police’ FB disputes, and more bureaucracy thrown on them to be slavishly followed or face the wrath of the many oversight bodies that are put on them.

Fair point well made Marra.

Your right about our established institutions I.e. emergency services, armed forces, etc. Their captives to whatever inclusion policy, sometimes thought up by someone who has no experience of that role, regardless of whether or not it makes that role any better for the public or the service itself.

Yep. As you and I both understand.

The point by Barwell about “attracting” is important. As you say, a lack of diversity isn’t necessarily a result of positive discrimination. But there are factors that compound or reinforce a dominant demographic in certain roles - the best may not try because they don’t align to the that demographic. You may feel you won’t fit in or won’t be selected on merit if you don’t conform to a certain immutable characteristic. Meritocracy is the goal, but we must ensure that a lack of diversity doesn’t detract those who would actually be the best from applying…

It is important to remember that for the hard left ideologues, the issue is not actually the issue. Obviously, ‘diversity’ is not actually a strength and anyone who believes this cannot be convinced by a rational argument. Those who can already understand it, so why bother?

The notion of DEI must be rejected outright, and an alternative vision offered, rather than argued against within its own framework.

Just read it. Well-written, and some very valid points.
