The best article I have read on this issue and one that I believe has the most accurate insight on how the majority of British people feel.

I once studied Sir Keith Joseph’s..’Socialist ratchet critique ‘

He argued that piecemeal changes on their own may seem fairly innocuous, however each time the ratchet locks towards its desired destination that change is hard to reverse and eventually we end up with a country that is not recognisable.

His critique centred on the nightmare politics of the 1970’s of both the Heath and Wilson governments.

I believe that we are living with an Islamic ratchet process. If we do not change our culture may be seriously undermined

Once again, Paul, from a perspective of maintaining some degree of social cohesion in future, you have hit the nail bang square on its head. Fundamentally, what you've argued for here is quite simply grounded, common sense.

One of the calmest, most well written and persuasive articles I’ve read on this topic. If we are to bring people from the far left up to speed with what is actually going on your analysis will do it.

Bravo Paul. Very well said. Just one comment on your reference to net migration. It is indeed net migration that has been much talked about and that the numbers must come down. They have. HOWEVER, we must be very careful here because whilst net migration has dropped to 200,000 or so, close to 900,000 visas were given out. This means that more people than ever are leaving rather than there being a reduction in those coming. And I bet it's not those from Islamic or third world countries who are leaving in their droves but rather wealthy cultural Westerners, mainly white Brits. So the problem will persist until GROSS immigration from culturally incompatible countries is reduced to almost zero.

It starts with leadership and having the right vision for this country. A country that lost its way probably 20 to 30 years ago. New Labours equality act has been disastrous, particularly for young women and girls. It has nevertheless empowered the culture warriors (who earn a good living out of it) to bang on about the importance of the “global majority” while the indigenous multi- generational brits have been marginalised and been told to shut up. As you say Paul Timothy’s article has resonated whereas before he would have been castigated and thrown out of the party’s few years ago. What has changed then? I think we probably know who is leading in the polls and this has led to the chameleon like Tory party jumping on the populist bandwagon. Trouble is both main parties have made many promises before! We shall see in May I guess one way or the other.

Great read Paul to which I’d add this. Not only are we seeing and feeling our identity and customs being eroded, we’re PAYING for the privilege, as so many of the Muslim faith are either unemployed and claiming benefits, or employed very part-time and claiming benefits in top-up income, or don’t work on religious grounds (wives and elderly dependants). Here am I, retired and elderly, still paying a lot of tax but concerned at what my grandkids will think of our stewardship of the country.

I live in America, and have only recently become aware of the changes taking place 'across the pond', as I've heard you called through the years. No disrespect at all, you see. This piece written by Paul reminds me of a book I saw but never read beyond the title and write up (my loss) about a patriot from a foreign land warning America about the intruding religious group seeming like any other cultural group making themselves at home in this patriots' mother country and before they knew it, forced into living sharia law. Little things rubbed the wrong way, but tolerance being the 'Law of the Land', made ppl look the other way, until one day there's no turning back. Diversity is NOT our strength, those like myself who believes that All people matter, that Freedom matters, and Liberty matters for All. We must learn from others mistakes if we are to survive.

Very perceptive article Paul. Thank you. Sadly your Party Leader, with his Fabian beliefs, places globalism, multiculturalism and Marxism above the safety and wishes of the indigenous majority.

It’s a great pity that when the fatwa was issued about Salman Rushdie’s book in the 1980s, the inciting hatred laws were not enforced against all those burning his book and calling for his murder. (I know, we didn’t have those laws then, but we did have lots of others, but the powers that were were too wet to enforce them, and now, here we are).

Asymmetric multiculturalism - that's exactly the problem in a phrase

Excellent piece. I couldn’t disagree with any of it.

I had a pretty religious upbringing, marred by sectarianism, which is why I’m horrified to see it on the rise in the UK.

Gorton and Denton By-election has shown us what our future holds, and Birmingham, already simmering, is about to have a convicted terrorist stand for election.

What is happening, why is it being allowed to happen?

Paul, as you say , "if our nation is to avoid (even) greater fragmentation, it must urgently reassert its long established majority culture".

Unfortunately none of our established political parties are yet able to adequately promote or encourage our majority culture. I fear that eventually on this, and many other fundamental issues, referenda are going to be needed to correct the loss of the electorate's trust in prevaricating politicians.

If you take Muslims and islam out of the equation I'd say multiculturalism has succeeded at least compared to other nations.

The Martyr's avatar

Muslims and Islam are the largest and most troublesome minority. So multiculturalism has been a disaster.

Yeah, that's why we have hordes of Afro-Caribbean kids looting and stabbing their way through large swathes of our capital city. If only it was just Muslims...
